The ARC believes that people belong in their own communities. The residential and community support program offered by the ARC is based on this precept and focuses on assisting people to receive the supports they need to successfully live in the home of their choice. The supports the ARC offers combine the individual's strengths with opportunities for growth in order to maintain control of their life's direction. The ARC believes a person needs to choose their own goals, use their particular resources and be able to participate in their own community. Supported living plans developed by the ARC are based on the individual's choices, including language that is natural and understandable and reflects inclusion in all aspects of every day life. Individuals are served within the homes of their choice. This can include their parents' home, their own apartment, their own condo or their own house. Services are based on the individual's person-centered plan, as developed by the individual and his or her circle of support. Goals developed during this process are incorporated in the plan of service and implemented by ARC staff. Services are based on individual need and are focused on improving the independence of all individuals served. Staff members providing services to individuals are required to pass criminal background checks, recipient rights' checks, and checks of driving records. If an individual receiving services determine that a staff member is not to their liking, they can request a change in staff members. Every effort to accommodate this request is made as quickly as possible. Staff members are required to read and implement the individual's plan of service, always keeping the individual the focus of the services provided. Contact: | ||||||||||||||
